1. Matters Arising

Alan is working on error handling / messaging in EMBOSS, and will implement correct trapping of malloc errors in the library.

Tim suggested a Nov 12th release date for jemboss. He proposed a "batch" attributes in the acd definition for each application to indicate whether a program was cpu intensive or otherwise suitable for being put into batch.

Ranjeeva has completed the coding but not testing of seqsort (for processing the results of psiblast and swissprot searches for SCOP families). He has finished but not tested the application alignwrap (a wrapper to clustalw for extending seed alignments with a set of sequences).

Waqas is planning an application for the generation of a database of functional sites in protein structures from residue contact information.

Jon is still testing coorde and will commit a working version soon.

Hugh has been evaluating java graphics for emboss with a graph drawing program.

Gary has committed the trimest application for trimming polyA tails from sequences. He is working on primer3.

Peter has been constructing test cases for debugging the code for list file processing. He defined two new report formats. He proposed a binary version of emboss for all supported platforms for release with srs.
