1. Minutes of the last meeting

Minutes of the meeting of 16th April 2007 are here.

2. Software Development

2.1 Libraries

Peter has added a new table destructor for cases in the EMBL/Genbank format internals where the table value is a constant so only the key needs to be (can be) deleted.

Peter noted a bug in graph titles recently introduced where plot titles appear twice. Examples include all the dotplot programs. It is possible that this was also in the last release, but now the scaling of the plot titles has been "fixed" the two titles appear in different sizes. Fixing this means that Staden output is now missing graph titles as plots were writing these as text instead of using the standard graph title mechanism. This needs to be fixed before the release.

2.2 Plplot library

Peter will join the plplot project on Sourceforge to discuss including the code fixes we need for strict compiler warnings.

2.3 Other development

Peter has updated all the QA tests and the valgrind memory tests to use the new EMBL and UniProt identifiers and the updated test databases

3. Administration

3.1 Release 4.1.0

Alan noted that we still need a patch file for the first fixes.

4. Documentation and Training

4.1 Books

Jon updated the ACD datatype and attribute documentation, working through all datatypes and attributes and updating all documentation. Descriptions for global attributes have been shortened and headers have been added. Example values are included for each datatype. All associated qualifiers now have documentation.

The introduction includes descriptions of sections and of the acdvalid utility, including recommended parameter naming rules.

Next tasks are to add detailed reference sections and examples on usage of alignment files, etc. and ACD operations.

The first draft should be complete in time for release 5.0.0.

5. User queries and answers

No new issues.

6. AOB

None.

7. Date Of Next Meeting

The next meeting is on Monday 14th May.
