Configure

To accept the default configuration, just type

./configure
and let EMBOSS get on with it. You may however want to make some changes to the configuration parameters according to your local policy. This section will not cover all the possibilities, just some of the more common. The configuration script will attempt to find the necessary components in your system to determine how to successfully build EMBOSS. It typically expects the GNU C compiler (gcc) and several standard libraries that should already be part of your Unix/Linux system. EMBOSS should configure, compile and run on most modern Linux distributions straight out of the box.
