Apologies:

1. Matters Arising

Alan has fixed a bug in retrieving by accession number from EMBL reformatted by GCG software. Split GCG entries can now also be read. Alan will look into a reported problem where EMBOSS crashes when accessing genbank updates with BLAST.

Alan reported that the EMBOSS cvs repository can be set up on the bioperl machine to allow for a writeable cvs tree and that EMBOSS had acquired the emboss.org domain name and the appropriate licence to hold the STADEN source code.

Alan will implement the -data command line option for the programs chaos, banana, pepinfo and prettyplot in addition to cirDNA and linDNA. He will also implement wild card retrieval on accession numbers.

Gary has been tidying up documentation.

Tim has finished but not yet committed plotcon.

Gary suggested that we need to identify which programs (e.g. HMMER or ALIEN) or fields of analysis (e.g. protein structure, genomic sequence analysis) are conspicuous by their absence from EMBOSS, and make work on these a priority. It was agreed that use of application wrappers should be made where possible. Details for proposals should appear at http://emboss.sourceforge.net/apps/proposed.html

2. Date Of Next Meeting
