EMBOSS: Project Meeting (Mon 31st March 08) |
The dbxfasta bug is fixed and tested by the user, who also reports much faster performance from running with data and index files on separate disks.
Mahmut has continued to work on migrating the existing SoapLab and SoapLab2 services. These have been running well. Support requests included a problem with the web interface (Spinet) display in Internet Explorer 7. Modifications were made to SoapLab for the derived services namespace. The SoapLab team will discuss how to apply the fix to SoapLab2.
The eprimer3 service had a problem with integer/double arguments. This is fixed.
Alan has built the patch for the latest fixes on the FTP server.
Peter and Alan are looking into opportunities for renewed funding as we start the final year of the current BBSRC grant. We will have a planning meeting after the next EMBOSS meeting.
The CVS server needs to be cleaned up to purge some obsolete directories. The book CVS server may move to Open Bio (the EMBOSS source code CVS server) to make maintenance easier.
Peter presented a half day tutorial on EMBOSS for users at an EBI course "From sequence to gene: genome resources at the EBI" from March 5th-7th. Mahmut attended and helped with the practical session. See http://www.ebi.ac.uk/training/handson/course_080305_genes.html for details.
Jon will email a list of proposed changes for review.
Happy Birthday to Peter, completing the full set of EMBOSS meetings on the birthdays of the team members.
The next meeting is on Monday 14th April.
