You can test your EMBOSS installation by trying the program '
wossname'
% wossname -auto |more
This should give a long list of programs that are available. Press space to page down through the list. This is just the EMBOSS programs and doesn't include any of the EMBASSY programs, but only because they are not yet installed. (Note: Although wossname does have a -noembassy option this does not work with installed programs because wossname can no longer find any difference between EMBOSS and EMBASSY)
