1. Outstanding action points

From previous meetings:
ACD docs need updating (action PMR, 2003-02-21)
MEME documentation is required (action AJB, 2003-02-21)
Look into binary downloads for MAC OS 10 (AL, 2003-03-07)
Research automatic conversion of html to docbook (Adam can provide a script to help with the reformatting) (TJS, 2003-03-07)
Provide GW with text thanking providers of emboss machines for their support (AJB, 2003-03-21)
Provide documentation for propehcy (AJB, 2003-03-21)
Approach Malcolm Herbert about RedHat Linux distribution for bioinformatics. (DC, 2003-03-21)

2. Progress on action points

The following action points are postponed until further notice
Prepare training course / demo on "Documentation of EMBOSS Software" (the use of XML Mind etc) (DC & TJS, 2003-03-07)
Preliminary look into industry funding for EMBOSS (JCI, 2003-03-21)

3. Software Development

Peter reported that QA tests for the domainatrix applications have been defined. A bug in ACD processing of the info attribute has been fixed.
Alan reported that memory tracking in ajMemCalloc has been fixed. A bug in ajMaskSeq has been fixed.

4. Documentation & Training

Alan and Jon reported that 9 people attended the EMBOSS Progamming Course this week. A course feedback form showed that the course was very well received. Several people suggested that more talks are required (Jon - action point).
Damian reported that all 3 book proposals were well received by Addison Wesley, Cambridge University Press and Wiley.

5. Administration

Alan reported Peter, Damian, Alan and Duncan Campbell had met with M$ who had agreed in principle to fund 2 three month interns to work on a Windows client for EMBOSS and a windows port.
The release time for version 2.7.0 will be the end of next week.

6. Life Science Identifiers (LSI's)

LSI's were discussed, Martin Senger will keep EMBOSS informed of developments and EMBOSS will forward their suggestions in due course to Martin. Here are the URLs for the LSID submissions:
